Ruben Carrapatoso is one of the biggest names in Brazilian karting. He started his career in the 90’s and has accumulated several national and international titles. He lived in Europe for 10 years. In 1998, he won the World Karting Championship title, beating names such as the two-time F1 champion Fernando Alonso. He competed in the British F-Ford, as rookie of the year, and achieved the same distinction in the Italian F-Renault two years later. The paulista also had passages in the English F-Renault, in the A1GP Team (Motorsport World Cup), being the best rookie driver in 2005, in Super Turismo V8 Argentina. In 2006, the attention of several outstanding Brazilian drivers abroad turned to Stock Car racing, and Carrapatoso was no different. In the biggest category in Brazil, he did two seasons. Parallel to this, the pilot always saw in motorsports the possibility of new business opportunities outside the track, where he created the RC-14 carburetor factory, and was the official representative in Brazil of the ART Grand Prix kart manufacturer (brand of Nicolas Todt, son of Jean Todt). As an organizer, he was one of the founders of SKB – Super Kart Brazil (one of the biggest Professional Kart Championships in Brazil), besides racing 3 seasons in the Brazilian Speed Rally for Peugeot. During this time, he also worked as a young driver’s coach abroad and returned to Stock Car racing, now as a data engineer for the Carlos Alves team, transferring to the C2 Team in his debut year in 2014. This season, he is the team manager of the team from Paraná in StockcarLight, for the History Channel C2 Team where they recorded the Reality Show “Na Corrida”, which is broadcasted by the History Channel until today. Today he works as an Engineer in StockCar at KTF Sports Team, besides continuing with his coaching work at Porsche Cup Brazil!
