SIT DOWN AND HERE COMES THE EMBROIDERY
With a degree in journalism and a vast knowledge of anthropology, Manu Ebert has worked for 15 years with television journalism and entertainment programs. She went from reporter to TV program director.
In the last five years she has dedicated herself to the textile arts with a focus on embroidery. He gives courses, lectures, and mentorships throughout Brazil in schools, cultural spaces such as: SESC, Unibes Cultural, and Escola de Botânica.
Her work goes beyond teaching, studying, and delving into embroidery techniques from the four corners of the world. Among them are: Japan, Peru, Mexico, Hungary, Sweden, and Portugal.
This year she started the “Senta que lá vem embroidery” project. With international guests, (anthropologists, cultural mediators, embroiderers, and textile designers) she seeks to bring together stories and the embroidery techniques that exist in different corners of the planet. All this happens in the virtual world (for now).
Her work goes beyond teaching; she studies and deepens her knowledge of embroidery techniques from the four corners of the world.
